Origin and history
Château Lasalle is an emblematic building located in the commune of Le Ban-Saint-Martin, Moselle, in the Grand Est region. Built in the mid-18th century, it is a typical example of the residential architecture of this period. Its inscription in the title of historical monuments, by order of 10 May 1996, demonstrates its heritage importance and the desire to preserve its architectural heritage.
The castle, located at 41 avenue de la Liberté, has retained most of its original interior features, dating from the 18th century. These elements, such as woodwork, fireplaces or decors, offer a valuable insight into the lifestyles and artistic tastes of the aristocracy or the local bourgeoisie of this period. Today, the castle belongs to an association, suggesting a cultural or community vocation.
In the historical context of the 18th century, Lorraine, then integrated into the Kingdom of France, experienced a period of relative stability and economic development. The castles of that time, like Lasalle, often served as residences for local elites, while playing a role in the social and administrative organization of the region. Their architecture reflected the classical influences and the evolution of the construction techniques of the time.
