Château Saint-Laurent (cad. AC 127): inscription by order of 30 January 1989

Origin and history

Château Saint-Laurent de Die is a historic monument located in the municipality of Die, in the department of Drôme, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. This castle, whose exact address is referenced as 7183 Chamarges and St. Lawrence, has been listed in the inventory of Historic Monuments since January 30, 1989. Although little detailed information is available on its history or architecture, its inscription bears witness to its local heritage importance.

In the Die region, fortified castles and buildings often played a central role in the social and economic organization of communities. At a time when agriculture, trade and local trade were shaping daily life, these monuments served as landmarks, places of power or protection. The Château Saint-Laurent, by its inscription, is part of this regional architectural and historical heritage, although its specificities remain partially documented.
