Origin and history

The agricultural estate known as Château de Varès is an architectural complex located in the commune of Poucharramet, in the department of Haute-Garonne, in the Occitan region. This monument, classified among the Historical Monuments, consists of a main house as well as various agricultural outbuildings, such as a barn, barn, cellar and barn. These buildings, typical of an agricultural estate, reflect a spatial and functional organisation linked to the rural activities of the region.

The listing of the domain in the inventory of Historic Monuments was formalized by an order dated 28 January 2020. This protection specifically concerns the facades and roofs of the house and its outbuildings, delimited on a plane annexed to the decree. The site is located in section E of the Poucharramet cadastre, on plots 467 and 468.

Although the available sources do not specify the exact period of construction, architecture and site layout suggest continued agricultural use, characteristic of the rural areas of the Occitanie region. No information is provided on opening to the public, renting rooms or services such as guest rooms.
