Origin and history

The hotel Pauilhac is a private hotel built between 1910 and 1911 by architect Charles Letrosne for Georges Pauilhac, a Toulouse industrialist and co-owner of the company JOB. Located at 59 avenue Raymond-Poincaré in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, it is distinguished by its facade adorned with carved reliefs (branches and pine apples) made by Camille Garnier, as well as its roof in the point of neo-Gothic inspiration. Inside, the vestibule, the stairwell with its ironwork, and the old galleries on the first floor – including a mosaic fountain – bear witness to its original fascist.

The galleries were originally used to exhibit Georges Pauilhac's collection of weapons, which has now been part of the museum's holdings since 1964. In 1989, the building was purchased by a developer to install a prestigious headquarters. Between 1996 and July 2000, he hosted the restaurant of Alain Ducasse, succeeding Joël Robuchon, thus marking his entry into Parisian gastronomic history.

The facade, roof, vestibule, stairwell and galleries on the first floor are listed as historical monuments by order of 27 September 1990. These protections highlight the heritage value of the building, combining neo-Gothic architecture, Art Nouveau decorations and industrial and cultural history.
