Origin and history
The Sarda de Caumont House, located in Auriac-sur-Vendinelle, is an outbuilding of an old 15th century castle. This historic monument is uniquely decorated with three cruciform windows, typical of Renaissance architecture. The more richly decorated central window features mouldings decorated with thistle leaves and animal motifs, framed by pinnacles and a countercurve arch.
The protected elements of this house, classified by decree of 5 March 1927, specifically include the three windows of the north-east facade. These architectural details reflect the artistic influence of the Renaissance, while at the same time testifying to the historical significance of the site. The exact address, 10 Rue de la Promenade, and its INSEE code (31026) confirm its anchoring in the Haute-Garonne region of Occitanie.
Although the practical information on current visits or uses (rental, guest rooms) is not specified, GPS location and Merimée data make it possible to identify this monument as a notable vestige of the local heritage. However, its state of conservation and accessibility are still to be assessed more precisely, as the accuracy of its location is considered satisfactory a priori (note 6/10).
