Origin and history

The Petit Château de Noisiel, built in the second half of the 19th century, is an emblematic monument of the city of Noisiel, in the Seine-et-Marne (77). This castle, whose facades and roofs (as well as those of orangery and stables) have been protected since 1986, illustrates bourgeois residential architecture of the period. Its state of conservation and its integration into the local landscape bear witness to the Franciscan heritage.

The site includes an artificial cave, a remarkable element associated with the castle. The set was designed under the direction of a contractor named PARENT, although the details of his sponsor or original use remain unclear in available sources. The monument is now owned by a public institution, suggesting a contemporary heritage or cultural vocation.

Ranked a Historical Monument by order of 12 June 1986, the Little Castle of Noisiel enjoys partial protection covering its major architectural elements. Its location, at 5 boulevard Pierre-Carle, is documented in the Mérimée base, with geographical accuracy deemed to be satisfactory a priori (note 6/10). The photographs available, such as Tangopaso's Creative Commons license, contribute to its heritage visibility.
