Origin and history

Château de Rouanne is a building located in the commune of Vinsobres, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Although its existence is attested, the available sources do not specify its construction period or detailed history. This monument is part of the historical landscape of the region, but current internal data do not allow to trace its evolution or past functions.

In the general context of the region, medieval or modern castles often served as seigneurial residences, defence points or administrative centres. In Vinsobres, as in other Provencal villages, these buildings played a key role in social and economic organization, especially around viticulture, a major activity of the region for centuries.
