Origin and history

The Château de Ferrières is a monument located in the commune of Ferrières, in the Hauts-de-France region. Although its existence is attested, the available sources do not specify its construction period or detailed history. Its architecture and role in the region therefore need further study.

In the Hauts-de-France, castles have often played a central role in the social and economic organization of the territories. They served as seigneurial residences, places of power or administrative centres. The local population, mostly rural at certain times, lived around these buildings which structured daily life, exchanges and defence of the territory.
