Origin and history
Boulot Castle is an iconic building from the 3rd quarter of the 18th century, located in the commune of Boulot, Haute-Saône. His house body, rebuilt around 1763 according to the plans of architect Claude Damien Gardaire, replaces commons and fence walls dating from the late seventeenth century. The interior decorations, typical of the 18th century, were preserved, while the house was enhanced by one floor and an attic during the first half of the 19th century (between 1827 and 1829).
The castle, which has been listed as historic monuments since 1994, includes protected elements such as the house body, the commons (including a greenhouse), as well as stone fences and wrought iron fences. These protections relate specifically to cadastral plots C 62 to 67 and 70. The site, now shared between private and communal property, bears witness to the architectural and social evolution of the region.
The location of the castle, specified by GPS coordinates, places the building at the approximate address of 1 Rue du Moulin, in the department of Haute-Saône (70). Its inscription in the title of historical monuments underlines its heritage importance, both for its architecture and for its history linked to the local nobility and the transformations of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
