Origin and history

The former Château de Croix-Fontaine, located in Seine-Port (Seine-et-Marne), is an 18th-century building. This monument, partially preserved, bears witness to the residential architecture of this period in Île-de-France. Its retaining wall, forming a terrace, was inscribed in the Historical Monuments by decree of 26 April 1994, highlighting its heritage interest despite the partial state of conservation.

The location of the castle, at 40 or 42 rue Croix-Fontaine, remains approximate according to available sources, with a cartographic accuracy considered "passable" (note 5/10). Although information on its current use (visits, rental, accommodation) is missing from the archives consulted, its registration as a Historical Monument makes it a significant part of the local heritage. The data come mainly from the Merimée database and the Monumentum platform, without any mention of events or specific historical characters related to the site.
